Hi Stephanie:
I am afraid it is not possible to change anything on the top bar. That is part of the skin design of the forum and is made up of a CSS Style Sheet plus php code. This is all made up for us by free forums.org. We just get to choose the style of forums that we want. There is no way of editing this part at all, although we do have lots of choices in other areas of the forum. This is where freeforums.org come in when we get new things added - like being able to upload photos now. They are working constantly to improve and add new things that we can do on here. I can make a suggestion to Free Forums and see if they can do something in this regard. I don't know if they can! All the other links on that bar lead to one page, not to scattered posts all over the place. They would have to devise a way to get all the old unanswered posts onto one page first. that could be linked to. and then get it into their database so that it would be constantly updated..
I am wondering which page you are linking to - to get to the forum. If you drag a link to the
Home Page onto your links bar in your browser you will go directly there. Soon as you sign in it should show "View Posts since your last visit" right under your name and icon (you don't have a photo icon uploaded - put one in - then we can see you). I also put the revolving door list of Recent Posts on the left side of the Home Page which shows what they are about and who posted to the topic last. I usually see something new on this (that is how I found this post of yours).
Also I would download the Forum Toolbar. It is not full of links to other sites and advertising junk, like most toolbars! But, the button on the left (aminus3members) links directly to the home page, it shows how many posts and users there are, there are some more useful things such as a chat room which works. Unfortunately, in my Firefox browser the New Posts button and the Private messages button are not showing anything. So I may go to the freeforums.org help forums to find out why it isn't working.
Lastly, be sure to checkmark the box at the bottom of the list under the message posting window "Notify me when a reply is posted". You will always get an automated email notifying you that someone has responded to your post, and a link to that topic.
As to the old unanswered posts - I guess I just skim through the forums now and then an look at the last post in a topic to see if it still needs an answer.
